Perhaps, I may be blogging about LED too much. For newcomers, LED(light emitting diodes) are 80-90% more efficient than incandescent, emit zero heat and can last up to 20 years. Quite simply LED is the best bulb ever manufactured.
We blogged about this new product called LED tape, which is tiny bulbs literally on a plastic strip. Here it is installed
Light quality(Kelvin) is good.
When compared against halogen light fixtures, the LED is much more compact and unobtrusive especially with frameless cabinets
These "Christmas lights" seem fine for accent lighting, but I haven't seen one yet that throws enough lumens to truly be called task lighting.
ReplyDeleteThe LR6 downlights by LLF are truly groundbreaking in the amount of light you get. But those are 6" recessed cans.
I think we still have to wait a bit for a workable undercabinet LED fixture.

LED is arriving fast, Peggy. The people at CSL have stated their aim is for 1 watt LEDs to have an equivalent of 100 incandescent watts...Look at Jesco for now
