Kind of a meandering post today.....If you were in the market for a dishwasher before 1994, your choices were GE, Maytag and KitchenAid. You purchased the unit based on how you perceived the product actually cleaned.
Bosch changed all that by being noiseless. As I have written in previous posts, the combination of the living room and dining room into one "great" room has had a profound effect on lighting and appliances. Luckily for Bosch quietness has become a major reason to buy a dishwasher for this reason. People want to watch tv without listening to the dishwasher
So lets flash forward to now. Quiet dishwashers abound and now we have a recession(I now can officially say that). Bosch has been on the sideline for consumer rebates
Until now:
Because KitchenAid has been packaging their dishwashers at ridiculous prices. Bosch has responded with $100 rebates(nationwide) plus package incentives on their 2 best selling dishwashers....
Its all about market share.....

I want to buy a stainless steel dishwasher as quiet as I can afford at the warehouse sale. What is your suggestion to how to be best prepared? And are all dishwashers a standard size?
ReplyDeleteThanks!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI loved reading the dishwasher info because it dovetails with shopping for one at the warehouse sale. What's the best way to comparison shop and know which models are the quietest? I am looking for stainless steel exterior and tub.
Thanks!
That's great Steve. Now, are you going to let us know which models those are?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Joey
Andrea,
ReplyDeleteAll dishwashers are the same dimensionally. No dishwasher can advertised the quietest, because the differences are not detectable by the human ear.
However, Bosch is extremely quiet at lower price pints versus the competition. Miele and KitchenAid have more features but tend to be more expensive for a quiet dishwasher....
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteMy previous comments should answer your question. It is very hard to comparason shop, because the differences are so minimal....
The brands to consider for real quiet: Asko, Bosch, Miele, GE Profile, Frigidaire Gallery and KitchenAid.
Jay,
ReplyDeleteBoschs' best selling pieces are the SHE43C05 and SHX45C05. Both have rebates of $100. There are additional incentives if you buy 2 or more items
Steve
Steve, cool site here. I noticed these models are not offered on Yale's main website, I wanted to check on the prices.
ReplyDeleteJust a quick question, how does the SHE43C05 compare to the SHE45M05?
Thanks in advance for your input.
Henry...
ReplyDeleteMea culpa...I have placed the wrong models on the blog. The correct models are she43m05 and
shx45m05
Sorry about that
