So it is Taxday weekend again August 16-17.
TaxDay refers to an exemption of products $2499 or less for personal use. In theory, a consumer can purchase an unlimited amount of items under $2499 without tax.
Following is a few tips on how to survive the crowds and the aggravation thereof:
1. Do your shopping now before the weekend.
2. Generate a quotation on the items you wish to purchase.
3. Either tell the salesperson to process the order on TaxDay or call/fax or email that weekend.
4. If you want to shop that weekend, head out early to your prime destinations. By prime, I refer to the big ticket items. If you waiting in line 3 hours for a $20 item, you may find that your time is probably worth more.
Hi guys,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog and think you have some great tips about energy efficiency. I was wondering if you have ever reviewed the all in one combo washers, specifically the ones sold by Yale made by LG. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments.
ReplyDeleteCombo machines are good for a number of reasons. They are ventless(no ducting required) and use only 110 power, which is good for people who can not run 220 volts in their closet.
However, the cycle is long. The power on the dryer is half so the clothes are dry in over twice the time.
Although LG is the best of a motley mix of niche manunfacturers like Malber and Asko, buy it only if you cannot fit the regular washer and dryer

Hi
ReplyDeleteLooking at your web site
http://www.yaleappliance.com/tax_day/
It appears that you are offering to match the sales tax exemption by offering a 5% discount PLUS a buy- back amount of up to $100.00.
I read this to mean that BOTH of these offers are available on purchases made on Aug 11 & 12. Could you verify that please?
Thanks
Buybacks and 5% allowances are vendor funded....In other words: yes
ReplyDeleteThe buybacks are Yale Card only. The 5% is on anything. The packages have already had the 5% included in the pricing

Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know that my LG WM3431 arrived on Saturday morning. The delivery guys arrived on time, looked and acted professional, completely hooked up the machine and cleaned up after themselves. It couldn’t have gone smoother.
So far I have done five loads of laundry. You were right about the drying time, it took about 3.5 hours to complete one load (wash and then dry) but the clothes came out perfectly clean and dry. I have not noticed any cons for the machine; overall I’m pleased with the washer/dryer and very pleased with my Yale experience.
Thanks again,
John
Good news John...Appreciate your kind words. 3.5 hours is not so bad, but that IS the con of the mchine.
ReplyDeleteSince you already knew that info, it is not so bad...
Thank you again,
Steve
