The Policy of Returns

You are looking at the Yale Outlet, my home for the next 5 days.

Our return policy is simple. If the product does not fit, we will take it back without any restocking charges under 30 days. The average return policy in the appliance and furniture industry is 25% restocking plus a handling fee. Some companies do not handle returns under any situation, particularly on the internet.

Most companies are now charging to restock even before delivering the product in event of a cancellation, so be careful.

Following are a few tips on how to avoid this problem:

A. Obviously measure your space, but also measure every hall and doorway as well.

B. Most products can be stripped down, look at this dimension to determine whether the product fits.

C. Inquire about the return policy. Negotiate before your purchase or shop the sale to a more consumer friendly company.

  1. hi steve, great blog-found you through urbangrace interiors. i have a question for you-i read your posts (and grace's) aout the GE cafe series line and was wondering since it has been some time since you reviewed, what your feelings are about the product and if you think you get the most "bang for your buck" with these appliances....what i love about the stove/oven is that the stove has the griddle pan attachement which similar stoves dont seem to have-as i mentioned in an email i am in the market for all new appliances but my budget is limited (ah, if only!) but since i plan on redoing my kitchen just this once i want to make sure i am purchasing the right items best suited for my family.....any thoughts?i love the french door fridges-do you have any negative feedback you can share? any brands you like over another?

    thanks so much!!!

  2. Jayne,

First thank you for your kind words...

Affordable luxury is the new buzzword as people have stopped spending as much for the luxury segment.

Bosch, Electrolux, JennAir and GE Cafe have benefitted from this trend. Of these GE Cafe has increased the most dramatically. It is, like the others, a good combination of price, style and features(like the griddle accessory)

There has not been any negative feedback towards french doors. It provides the udeability of a bottom freezer with the style of a side by side...We are now selling way more french doors than side by sides...

    Good questions

  3. Thanks Steve! I am in NJ through Labor Day but as soon as I am back in Rhode Island I'll be coming in, list in hand.
