How to...Buy an Electric Range

This is harder than I thought. I picked GE for this exercise and they have tons of these products over 33 models just in stainless for their massive customer base. Still there are basic step up features. One small note: The oven sizes do not change within the brand itself. In other words, there is no bigger GE electric range

The JBP66 is our basic range. 4 ceran burners and self cleaning oven with storage drawer. Ceran is a glass

In the store, our next model is the JBP84. It seems like a pretty big step, because it adds convection, a bridge element and an extra large burner. The bridge element element allows you to place an oblong or odd size dish on essentially 2 burners joined together(did I explain that right?).

Then there is the new series, which of course is available 2 ways. Then again, it is GE, why only 2 and not 12? The PB series is two ovens with the smaller oven on top and is available with and without the bridge element and a larger element. In case you were wondering, they also still manufacture the larger oven over the smaller one.

Lets simplify an almost crazy array of choice. Basic four burner, step up to convection, bridge element then double oven then repeat. Reminds me of a book The Paradox of Choice...33 ranges, my word...Did this post help or confuse?
