Clunker Considerations

MassSave, Great Appliance Exchange, Cash For Clunkers or whatever the name, has been huge in other states. For example, Rhode Island ran out of money within a couple of hours.

There are a couple of considerations for Mass residents. First, there will be shortages, because we are last to promote. Secondly, not all the products qualify. In fact most do not.

Let me break it down by category.

Dishwashers
 Consider:
Bosch
Frigidaire
Asko
Whirlpool...limited
Miele...Limited

Dont bother (either doesn't qualify or has no availability):
GE
KitchenAid
Electrolux

Laundry

Almost anything front loading qualifies
Best Values:
Frigidaire
Bosch (they have limited supply, if any)
Whirlpool
Electrolux

Refrigerators

Refrigerators are the weakest category. Frigidaire has not shipped their tier 3 qualifying refrigeration. Bosch has zip. Most of the premium products do not qualify....

Consider:
Ge
Hotpoint
Maytag

Don't bother:
Everything else with some minor exceptions

So good luck...do some basic research and you should be able to buy very well (at least until the money runs out)

  2. Yes...I have been attempting to figure it out for 3 weeks. Go to our front page and click on the landing page..but here is the abridged version:

Register at masssave.com or 1-877-ma-swap1 at 10 am

You have to register separately for each appliance

You have to buy in store only

Send your rebate to back to Masssave......

If you(or anyone else) has any further questions, please call us or you can always send me an email directly

I have my rebate form. :) Now, my question is for refrigerators, are the only ones you have the ones I can see on the website or am I better off coming in to look?

  4. You have to buy in store anyway, but the choices in refrigeration are sparse

I was just wondering though which qualifying refrigerators you have in stock.
