JennAir/Electrolux

When you read this it will be Monday, where I am now will be Tuesday, but I am writing this on a Sunday. Now for more confusion, lets look at the integrated Electrolux and JennAir...

The JennAir is $1149, and the Electrolux is $699.

This is curious, because it is the same dishwasher. JennAir sells them to Electrolux, but then they can't move them at $1299 and close them out at $699.

Do I like this dishwasher at $1299, heck no, at $699 however, for a fully featured integrated dishwasher...its a pretty good price.

    Steve,

I purchased a Jenn-Air dishwasher at Yale a couple of years ago (model JDB1250AWS). For at least the past few weeks it's been making an abnormal, loud grinding sound during every wash cycle (usually at the beginning and end of the cycle). I know that other owners have reported a similar problem (for example: kitchen.manualsonline.com/ex/thread/view/idThread/1194572). Have you heard of this problem before with this or other Jenn-Air dishwasher models? I called Jenn-Air and they told me that the unit has a self-cleaning filter. They suggested that I run a normal wash cycle with 1 cup of white vinegar in a cup placed on the lower rack. It didn't correct the problem.

Staring at a minimum $200 repair bill on a unit that's a little over 2 years old doesn't sit well with me at all, especially if it's due to a manufacturing flaw. Any guidance/advice would be welcome.

    Thanks, Steve.
